TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN / QUEEN

"Tie Your Mother Down " is a song by British band Queen , which was released as a single on March 4, 1977 promoting her fifth musical album the amazing" A Day at The Races ".
Many critics underestimate the fifth music album Queen, and called him a poor record in terms of musical material and leave it as a simple filling LP. But if we go to the bottom of each piece of music that makes this work, we realize that " A Day At The Races" is an extraordinary work that stands out for its impeccable repertoire where Queen continues to demonstrate his talent for creating memorable songs.

One such memorable songs is one that opens the album, the powerful rocker "Tie Your Mother Down" .
This piece was written by guitarist Brian May in 1976 while in Tenerife, Spain, because of his studies for the degree of Doctor of Astrophysics (who won in 2007) and born just a joke based on a game all too ironic. Once finished, decided to include in the repertoire that the band was preparing for her fifth musical. It was in those recording sessions where the lead singer Freddie Mercury was impressed with this piece rock and decided to add certain details to the letter to make it darker in terms of humor ...

On the subject of the lyrics of this song it is noted in an interview with Capital Radio in 1976, Mercury stated the following: "Well, actually wrote Brian (May) and I have very clear on what inspired them. Maybe it was made in one of his changes in mood ... "In that sentence, it is clear that the song is a simple joke letter adorned with a simple spicy metaphors play simply as filler.

Musically, the song is something else. With a furious guitar riff that sounds divine, and we welcomed with a line drive and rebellious rocker, this song was one of the most chanted and applauded in the repertoire that the band was live.
the fans was very happy with this song, he quickly learned it and started to sing it in concerts. For these reasons, the band decided to release it as a single step and record a video clip style "Bohemian Rhapsody" , but over money and time, since the band was touring the United States, this project was just about anything. Finally

Queen recorded a promotional video for "Tie Your Mother Down " in February 1977 in the Nassau Coliseum New York.
One who has good memories of that video is the drummer Roger Taylor , as was the victim of an accident in the process of recording. It turns out that Queen during his tour of the United States decided to use fireworks and several sets of lights to make the most impressive show for the audience. But in the midst of recording the video clip, one of those fireworks ended up in the back of the blonde drummer who's impact on battery onto the floor and everything, stopping for several hours the work of director in charge of the case. "That day we almost lost to Roger " I would say years later a smiling Brian May to remember that moment.

After being released as a single, "Tie Your Mother Down" made it to # 13 of the UK Singles charts and box # 49 of the Billboard Hot 100, and was the prmer step to begin his conquest Queen musical American land, one of the most complicated tasks.

We leave this classic Queen , who dribbled quite dramatically and does not appear in any of the Greatest Hits, which calls him enough attention ...
A move to the floor mane ... Enjoy!
